Before Harry Potter, people struggled saying her name. "Jenny? Genie? Gee-yunny?" Now she says, "Ginny, like Ginny Weasley." Problem solved. Thank you J.K. Rowling. Ginny grew up with mountains to climb, rivers to swim, one grocery store, no traffic lights, and clear stars at night. Good ol' Morgan, UT. Ginny has been drawing since she could hold a pencil. Kid-Ginny most often drew dogs, Ninja Turtles, Simba, people, and animals she found in The National Geographic. Ginny's favorite foods are dark chocolate, popcorn, and any perfectly ripe plump sweet delicious colorful juicy fruit. Cinnamon rolls are okay too. Ginny graduated from Utah Valley University with an emphasis in Illustration. During sculpture class, Ginny shot her hand with a nail gun, burned a hole through her shoe from welding, and lost her dad's favorite shovel. Sculpture is not for Ginny. Sometimes when Ginny is asleep, she dreams she can fly, Peter Pan style. One day, she will. Put Ginny on a tall tree swing, and she'll be happier than a mouse eating ten pounds of cheese. Ginny experienced a mental break-down during the final years of college, introducing a wild rollercoaster of feelings and lessons. Now she wants to help kiddos through their own tumults and slippery slopes with laughable and empowering children's books. |
